The intent is to establish a unit price contract to prepare, store, and plant trees in quantities directed by the Contract Administrator or Designee along County maintained rights-of-ways, at County maintained facilities, and private properties within Montgomery County. All work necessary for completion of the planting projects, provision of required maintenance of traffic, and any related items as directed must be performed. The contract includes procurement, staging, planting, and removal of street trees for the County’s annual planting program. Required work includes: 1. Procurement, receipt, inspection, and heeling-in of approximately 2,000 1.5–2” caliper trees per planting season (October–April) in accordance with County specifications and ANSI standards. 2. Planting approximately 1,700 street trees per planting season on a County-approved schedule. 3. Removal of dead plantings at the direction of the County. 4. Provision of a facility with at least a one-acre secure staging area for storage and handling of plant material. 5. Performance of work on a pay-for-completed-work basis; no advance payments provided by the County. 6. Provision of qualified personnel, including at least one Maryland DNR Licensed Tree Expert (or approved equivalent), to oversee the work.
