Renovation of a mixed-use development in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Holyoke School Department is soliciting quotes for the removal and replacement of the flooring at 3 Schools. Dean Tech, Morgan, Metcalf School. Work is to include the removal of old flooring and installation of either VCT or carpet tile. The old flooring is to be removed, and the installation of either VCT or carpet tile. Dean and Morgan will receive VCT, and Metcalf will receive carpet tile. 1. Provide the necessary means and methods to remove the existing flooring at Dean and Metcalf. Each section of flooring is to be removed and disposed of correctly. 2. Provide the necessary means and methods to install new VCT at Dean and Morgan, with a color to be chosen at a later date. 3. Provide the necessary means and methods to install new carpet tile at Metcalf. The carpet tile must have materials containing the following: Nylon: The industry standard for heavy commercial traffic; highly resilient and stain-resistant, or Polypropylene (Olefin): Budget-friendly and moisture-resistant; common in basements. Flammability (ASTM E 648): Class I is the highest standard required for commercial spaces. Sustainability: Certifications like CRI Green Label Plus guarantee low VOC emissions. With a color to be chosen at a later date. 4. Dean is 1,000 sqft, Morgan is 750 sqft, and both will get VCT. 5. Metcalf is 1,050 sqft of carpet tile. 6. Provide new materials by installing them per the manufacturer sinstructions. Provide the proper installation of the products provided by the contractor per the manufacturers installation instructions. 7. Maintain a clean work area, collaborating with the owner for storage of materials and equipment. The disposal of all demolition materials and job site waste is the responsibility of the contractor and must be included in their bid. 8. Provide any building permits, if needed, to the building department and post them in the correct location. 9. Provide a punch list walkthrough with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance when the job has been completed. Correct an items identified, and once completed, the final job completion wil be satisfactory per the schools assigned representative. Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The city reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
