Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in Enfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; bridge / tunnel; transportation facility; and transportation facility.

The Project consists of two major scopes of work represented by separate drawing volumes: Station Scope: A new 350-foot long mostly covered high-level boarding platform with a waiting area structure, utility building and associated site improvements located at the intersection of Main Street and Commerce Street in Enfield, Connecticut as shown and described in the Contract. The platform will include windscreens (where covered), guardrails, bench seating, trash and recycling receptacles, blue light phones, passenger information display signs and variable instant messaging signs. Surface parking lots will accommodate 77 vehicles and will include provisions and installation of EV chargers and vehicle fare collection equipment. The platform assemblies will consist of pile-supported, Structural Modular Deck Panels on steel beams spanning across cast-in-place concrete pile caps supporting the platform. An integral electric snow-melt system will be incorporated into the panels and tie back to a utility building housing the power, lighting, controls and telecommunications equipment. The Waiting Area includes covered seating, ticket vending machines and variable instant message signs. Platform, ramp and stair steel guardrails will be shop-fabricated and shop painted with a high-performance coating system. Lighting, fire alarms and CCTV security cameras are included on the platform and at the utility building. A complete package of wayfinding, regulatory, and informational signs are also included as part of the overall station package. Variable message signs and PA systems are also included. Site work associated with the new facility will consist of excavation and grading work to accommodate the station components (sidewalk, utility building, site lighting and signage); re-grading of the site for storm runoff; installation of site retaining walls; installation of drainage structures; installation of new pavement; installation of earth retaining structures, installation of walkways, curbing, fencing, landscaping, site signage, line striping, and exterior site lighting.
