The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to replace the aging bridges along State Loop 289 where it crosses Slide Road in Lubbock. The existing bridge structures have reached the end of their usable lifespan and will be replaced with a single new bridge structure within the existing footprint. The project will not add travel lanes or relocate ramps but will require temporary detours and closures during construction.
