PROJECT BACKGROUND: Strathcona Science Provincial Park has two existing underground water lines that require capping. One of these lines has developed a leak, which requires isolation, and the second line requires isolation to fully decommission the unused waterline. Strathcona County operates a 6-inch water supply line that services both lines, as well as the Sunridge Ski Area. This main supply line is currently shut off. The exact size and condition of the two water lines are unknown. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The objective of this project is to locate, expose, and permanently cap the two underground water service lines coming off the water main close to the water main. Please submit any questions from the Prebid meeting, by email to the Project Manager prior to June 26, 2026. The Project Manager will respond to questions received to all interested vendors. SCOPE OF WORK: Note: All work included in this scope shall be completed in full accordance with the Strathcona Science Provincial Park Health and Safety Plan, with specific adherence to Appendix B Ground Disturbance o Primary and Secondary Utility Locates o Soil Sampling o Mobilization and Demobilization o Excavation to locate and expose water line o Supply and installation of cap on water line o Coordination with Strathcona County and Project Manager for leak verification before backfilling o Backfill and restoration to original grade o Site cleanup o Closeout Documentation
