Project Description: Construction of new Well House building consisting of plumbing and electrical equipment. INSTALLATION - THERMOMETERS AND GAGES A. Install gage taps in piping. B. Install pressure gages with pulsation dampers. Provide needle valve or ball valve to isolate each gage. C. Install thermometers in piping systems in sockets in short couplings. Enlarge pipes smaller than 2-1/2 inches for installation of thermometer sockets. Allow clearance from insulation. D. Provide instruments with scale ranges selected according to service with largest appropriate scale. E. Install gages and thermometers in locations where they are easily read from normal operating level. Install vertical to 45 degrees off vertical. INSTALLATION - BURIED PIPING SYSTEMS A. Verify connection to existing piping system size, location, and invert are as indicated on Drawings. B. Remove scale and dirt on inside of piping before assembly. C. Excavate pipe trench in accordance with Section 31 23 16. D. Place bedding material at trench bottom to provide uniform bedding for piping, level bedding materials in one continuous layer not exceeding 4 inches compacted depth; compact to 95 percent maximum density. E. Install pipe on prepared bedding. F. Route pipe in straight line. G. Install pipe to allow for expansion and contraction without stressing pipe or joints. H. Install shutoff valves at locations indicated on Drawings in accordance with this Section. I. Install plastic ribbon tape continuous over top of pipe. above pipe line. J. Install trace wire continuous over top of pipe. above pipe line. INSTALLATION - ABOVE GROUND PIPING A. Install non-conducting dielectric connections wherever jointing dissimilar metals. B. Install domestic water piping in accordance with ASME B31.9. C. Install unions downstream of valves and at equipment or apparatus connections. D. Install valves with stems upright or horizontal, not inverted. Owner requires Work of this Contract to be completed no later than September 30, 2026. Contract shall be awarded on July 13, 2026 Bidders are required to provide a Bid Bond according to the requirements in Section 00 21 13 - Instructions to Bidders. Bidders are required to submit qualifications to the approval of the Architect and Owner with their bid. Submit your Bid on the Bid Form provided. Refer to other Bidding requirements described in Section 00 21 13. Bids are required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. Davis Bacon Wage Rates are not required for this project. Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to accept or reject any or all Bids.
