Demolition, site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Park City, Utah. Completed plans call for the demolition of a transportation facility; for the construction of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
The existing KJTC was constructed in 2016 using federal and local funds. As the area has grown and the demand for transit services has increased, this transit center will be demolished and reconstructed. The new KJTC will serve as the northern anchor of the S.R.224 corridor and will function as a primary hub for local and regional bus services, micro transit, commuter parking, and active transportation connections. The KJTC's design, as outlined in Concept Design Engineering Drawing in Appendix A, is envisioned to include o Bus bays and operational areas to support current and future service levels o Customer amenities and compact retail; o Passenger waiting areas with family friendly amenities; o Pedestrian circulation and safety enhancements; o Facilities that support seamless access to the S.R. 224 BRT corridor and local services; o Overhead electric bus charging infrastructure; o Pedestrian connection to podium level of the adjacent P3 development; o 10,000 square-foot administration building. Design of the KJTC Project started in March 2026 and will be complete in early 2027. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2027 with commission completed on or before October 2028. High Valley Transit District (HVT) has entered into a Public-Private Partnership (P3) Agreement with Summit County and Park City Junction LLC to relocate HVT's existing Kimball Junction Transit Center (KJTC). The existing site will be demolished and HVT will operate in a temporary facility at the Summit County PEAK building parking area until the new transit center is opened in 2028.
