CapMetro intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to Stadler Rail Service US (Stadler) to provide maintenance for CapMetro’s fleet of Stadler commuter rail trains. Because CapMetro will transition Commuter Rail Services in-house beginning January 1, 2027, to ensure continuity of vehicle maintenance, Stadler’s services must be in place by October 1, 2026. Stadler will provide a form of staff extension to CapMetro's maintenance organization, encompassing two primary service pillars: Technical Support — corrective and preventive maintenance support, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and engineering expertise. Spare Parts Sourcing and Supply Strategy — sourcing assistance, obsolescence management, and stock level recommendations.
