The County of Santa Barbara General Services Department is requesting qualifications and proposals from certified qualified conveyance companies (CQCC) to provide design and construction oversight services for the modernization of the existing traction system for the Judges Elevator at the Historic Santa Barbara Courthouse. The project includes site inspection of the elevator to determine reusable components, development of modernization plans for submission to the State of California for approvals and permits, coordination of additional professional services (such as structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering) as needed for the design, creation of plans and specifications for bidding to C-11 Elevator contractors, provision of a State certified Elevator Inspector for site inspection services, review of historical resources documentation to incorporate preservation requirements into specifications, ensuring compatibility of control equipment with existing County ITD network, phone lines, WinDSX security systems, and State Courts Bosch Surveillance camera systems, and provision of a cost estimate for the modernization. Final project requirements will be confirmed during a mandatory job walk and distributed to all proposers. Site walkthrough notes: Interested firms will have opportunity to ask questions regarding the requirements outlined in this RFQ. In order to make the meeting more effective for all participants, attendees should read this document thoroughly prior to the meeting. As similar to all written questions from consultants, the County will prepare minutes of the conference and provide answers to all inquiries in writing, which will be distributed via Public Purchase. All firms providing a response to this RFQ are requested to register with the County Procurement Division prior to submittal. Proof of Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) registration will be required as part of the response to this RFQ. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
