The Project involves furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and other resources, unless otherwise specified, for the complete installation of improvements to the Downing Creek Lift Station. Work includes conversion to duplex submersible configuration, installation of a new polymer concrete wet well inside the existing wet well, installation of a grinder and grinder basin, replacement of controls, installation of a standby emergency generator and chemical feed system, and installation of approximately 125 linear feet of gravity sewer with manholes to realign the sewer entering the Lift Station. This summary does not represent a complete description of all work required. Each bidder must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and must conform with the provisions of the North Carolina Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925, as amended. All bids must include a non-collusion affidavit. Bids shall be accompanied by a deposit of cash, certified check, cashier's check, or a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent of the bid. Bids must be irrevocable for a period of ninety days after bid opening. The City of Durham requires the project to be substantially completed within 180 consecutive calendar days and fully completed within 210 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. The City of Durham reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to disregard nonconforming or conditional bids, accepting as deemed in the best interest of the City of Durham. Work of the Project includes improvements to the Downing Creek Lift Station including conversation to duplex submersible configuration, demolition, installation of new polymer concrete wet well inside existing wet well, grinder and grinder basin, replace controls, electrical gear, standby emergency generator, conversion to 480v, 3 phase power, and chemical feed system, construct installation of approximately 125 LF of gravity sewer with manholes to realign sewer entering the Lift Station. Furnish labor, materials, equipment, services and accessories, and install materials, equipment and accessories, necessary to provide a complete and functioning system as shown on the Drawings and specified in the Construction Specifications.
