Documents can be obtained at https://markham.bidsandtenders.ca/ o Mobilization and demobilization. o Implement and Maintain Site Specific Environmental Protection Measures as applicable o Coordinate with the Utilities Companies to protect the embedded utility pipes. o Undertake site survey and inform the Contract Administrator of any discrepancies that noted before proceeding with the work. o Prepare and submit the Shop Drawings for review and approval by the Contract Administrator before proceeding with the work. o Implement Temporary Traffic Control Measures including signage and daily inspection and maintenance. o Remove the existing expansion joint assembly including the joint seal and steel plates as shown on the drawings. Jr o Temporarily remove, protect, and salvage the existing steel cover plates and all associated connection hardware located at sidewalk areas for reuse, as confirmed by the Contract Administrator. o Abrasive blast cleans the substrate under the removed concrete and prepare the joint as per the drawings. The base shall be sound, clean, and dry before placing the new concrete. o Install the stainless-steel dowels and longitudinal reinforcements as per the details shown on the drawings. o Place Styrofoam or other type of material as per the Manufacturer's recommendation to seal the gap to prevent the leakage or loss of new concrete material. o Before securing or casting the system to the structure, the joint opening ofthe system should be adjusted to the proper ambient temperature. o Install the expansion joint assembly. Apply WaboBonding Agent (primer) immediately before placing the Wabo(R)Crete. Do not allow the primer to cure prior to installation. o Apply bonding agent to the sidewalk joints before placing normal concrete. Locally remove and reconstruct the parapet walls as necessary to accommodate the installation for the new expansion joint. o Open the Bridge to Traffic after proper curing of concrete and successful completion of the work.
