Demolition, site work and new construction of a communication facility in Stonyford, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a communication facility; for the construction of a communication facility; and for site work for a communication facility.

The project consists of demolition, removal, and replacement of an existing communications support facility located on St. Johns Mountain within the Mendocino National Forest. Work includes demolition and removal of the existing communications vault, associated infrastructure, select trees, and existing propane tanks. The project also includes installation of a new communications vault, standby generator system, solar array, gas line, and associated electrical improvements. Engineer Opinion of Cost Range: $900,000 to $1,200,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Final Date to Submit Questions and Requests for Clarification by: 3:00pm, Tuesday, July 21, 2026 Questions Answered via Addendum(s) by: Tuesday, August 4, 2026 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte reserves the right to reject any or all bids or alternate bids deemed not advantageous to the County of Butte, and to waive any informality in any bid received. The award, if made, will be executed within forty-five (45) calendar days after opening of bids The project consists of demolition, removal, and replacement of an existing communications support facility located on St. John's Mountain within the Mendocino National Forest. Work includes demolition and removal of the existing communications vault, associated infrastructure, select trees, and existing propane tanks. The project also includes installation of a new communications vault, standby generator system, solar array, gas line, and associated electrical improvements. The project site is located in a remote mountain-top environment with limited accessibility and challenging terrain. Access to the site is provided primarily through U.S. Forest Service roads, including narrow and rough road segments that require high-clearance four-wheel-drive (4x4) vehicles. Contractors shall be responsible for coordinating transportation of personnel, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work under these conditions. Installation of the new communications vault and associated supporting infrastructure shall occur prior to demolition of the existing vault and related facilities. Following completion of the new vault installation, County personnel will require adequate time to relocate existing communications racks, radio equipment, and associated systems into the new facility before demolition activities may commence on the existing vault and related improvements. Contractors shall coordinate sequencing and scheduling of work accordingly to maintain continuity of communications operations.
