This Request for Proposals is for the Aerotech Park Wastewater Treatment Facility Lagoon Sludge Removal and Disposal. The facility services the Halifax Stanfield International Airport and the Aerotech Park region. The lagoon intermittently receives wastewater and serves as a pretreatment step before discharge. The work includes managing the removal, dewatering, transport, and disposal of sludge and biosolids from the lagoon. The contractor is responsible for coordination and execution, including temporary power supply and installation, equipment provision, demolition and removals, site restoration and reinstatement, and any associated modifications required for project completion. Work is expected to begin when the lagoon is ice free and site conditions are dry and stable. The contractor must supply site power via portable generator, provide and install barge and/or surface mounted sludge dredging equipment, provide and install mechanical dewatering equipment, and manage removal, polymer addition, dewatering, and disposal of sludge.
