Site work and renovation of a civil project in Weedsport, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Rechlorination building and tank improvements including piping, valves, and meter replacement, interior and exterior architectural improvements, installation of new tank site bypass vault, chlorine injection vault, prefabricated rechlorination building, chemical feed equipment, and new mixing and disinfection byproduct treatment system. The Village of Weedsport Water Systems Improvements project generally includes the following work: Contract 1 _ Replacement of approximately 45,000 linear feet of water distribution mains _ Replacement of fire hydrants and valves coinciding with new water main; _ Upgrade of metering system to include new meters in all households and the addition of drive by meter reading infrastructure; Contract 2 _ Demolition of the existing chemical storage shed _ Installation of a prefabricated storage shed _ Propane tank removal _ Rechlorination building and storage tank improvements _ Chlorine injection vault and bypass vault additions _ Paving asphalt drive and restoration Generally, the new main material will be Pressure Class 350 ductile iron pipe or SDR 11 PVC pipe. Existing water mains will typically be abandoned in place, with valve boxes and hydrants removed. The project area consists of road right-of-ways along the proposed water main alignment. Water main will be installed using open-cut trench excavation and horizontal directional drilling methods throughout the project area. The project area is depicted on the location maps included as Figure 1 (Topographic) and Figure 2 (Aerial). The proposed project is a linear utility project. The project area's percent impervious area will increase minimally as a result of the proposed project. However, the new impervious area is de minimis. Each Contractor's construction sequence for their Contract shall be submitted for review prior to the pre-construction meeting. The following list is an example (subject to change) of the sequence of construction operations anticipated, for which the pace is dependent upon multiple factors (weather, material deliveries, etc.). The Bidder understands that this project has an MWBE goal of 20%.
