The City of Houston is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide construction services for the Edgewood Park Detention Basin Project. The project includes stormwater detention and drainage improvements, park and recreational facility enhancements, landscaping and irrigation improvements, and installation of associated site amenities. Requests for additional information and questions shall be addressed to the Finance Department, Strategic Procurement Division, Jessica Vargas, preferably by e-mail to Jessica.Vargas@houstontx.gov or by telephone at (832) 393-8025, The work included in this contract is for the excavation of a multi-use detention basin inside the Edgewood Park to serve for recreational purposes as well as flood mitigation. The project also includes various park improvements. This includes: 1. Removal and salvaging of existing athletic field fencing, light poles, recreational equipment, pavements, site furniture, and miscellaneous site features as shown on the construction drawings. 2. Excavation and off-site disposal of a dry bottom detention basin ranging 2 to 6 feet in depth, complete in place with bio-swales and storm sewer connections to and from the existing trunkline on Southbank Street. 3. Installation of inlets, catch basins and orifice restrictors as shown on the construction drawings. 4. Relocation of an existing 8" Water Line to provide a minimum of 2 feet vertical clearance with proposed storm infrastructure. 5. Removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalk and curb as needed for installation of storm infrastructure and water line relocation. 6. Furnishing and installation of 16" Steel Pipe Casings to protect the existing 8" San Sewer as shown on the construction drawings. 7. Installation of park facilities such as benches, picnic tables, ADA picnic tables, concrete walking trails, concrete pads, furniture pads, trash receptacles, trail light fixtures, pavilion , football field , goal posts, basketball court, basketball court stripping and equipment, and related appurtenances as shown in the contract documents. 8. Installation of a park irrigation system, complete in place, including site permits, water taps and all regulatory requirements. 9. Sodding and striping of the football field as shown in the contract documents. 10. Installation and maintenance of tree protection/preservation fencing and materials, including pruning as shown in the design drawings and specifications. 11. Furnishing, transplanting and installing trees, shrubs and ground cover as required . This includes hydro mulch seeding and sodding as shown in the construction drawings. 12. Installation of solid sod on side slopes and hydro-mulching of all other disturbed areas of the site. 13. Installation of a new electrical service, complete-in-place including conduits, conductors to provide lighting for the train and sports field lighting, including all permits and fees. 14. Layout and stake for approval of site pavements, sidewalks, and miscellaneous. 15. Coordination with utility owners and governing agencies. 16. Provide and install prefabricated pavilion. The pavilion shall be submitted as a deferred submittal in accordance with the City of Houston Building Code. Contractor shall provide engineered shop drawings prepared and sealed by a Texas licensed professional engineer and submit them for review and approval by the Building Code Enforcement (BCE) Department. 17. Provide and install footfall field and basketball court goals. Contractor shall provide engineered shop drawings prepared and sealed by a Texas licensed professional engineer and submit them for review and approval by the Building Code Enforcement (BCE) Department. 18. Dispose of site soil spoils off-site. 19. Provide and install sports field lighting. Contractor shall provide engineered shop drawings prepared and sealed by a Texas licensed professional engineer and submit them for review approval by the Building Code Enforcement (BCE) Department. Sports field lighting shall include an extended service contract from manufacturer in the City's name.
