The facility is powered via one incoming 13.2kV utility electrical service, which enters through overhead lines to a switch mounted on a telephone pole and then runs underground into the Powerhouse utility breaker switchgear. The switchgear in the Powerhouse consists of fourteen Eaton 150VCP-W750 vacuum circuit breakers, with protection provided by twelve Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories SEL-751A protective relays. Backup power is supplied by two MTU 13.2kV, 2MW diesel generators, protected by two Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories SEL-700G protective relays. The Tie Breaker is equipped with SEL-587Z differential protective relays. Multiple MCC panels are located throughout the facility, including two at the Powerhouse and one at the Wastewater Plant. There are fifty oil-filled transformers and thirty-seven HV switches with two power feeds. One transfer switch is located at the rear gate and another at the Powerhouse MCC panel. The Powerhouse includes a 125V battery system consisting of ten Deka Unigy 12AVR90 batteries, recently replaced, and fifty-two electrical manholes. All equipment is to be serviced according to this scope of work. The contractor must provide generators and connect to critical buildings to maintain power during service, possibly outside regular hours, coordinated by the facility. Install Fluke 4” Round, model Fluke-100-CLKT, UL listed Infra-Red windows in the incoming switchgear cabinets. All work must be bid using the prevailing wage rate.
