Site work for a power facility in Springfield, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility.

City Utilities is constructing a new 161 kV line to link the Republic Substation with PIC West Substation for the purpose of increasing electric capacity on the west side of our system to allow for potential future development. This project will also create a 161 kV loop feed. Currently the Republic Substation is a radial feed and we do not have the ability to back-feed the substation in the event of a catastrophic failure on the line running from JTEC to the Republic Substation. There will be distribution under-build associated with this project, some being new construction and some transferring from existing poles as the new poles are constructed. This work will cover roughly 9.5 miles of new line with 163 new structures, 27 of which are self-supporting. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, and services necessary to procure, deliver, and construct the 161 kV transmission line with 13.2 kV distribution under-build in accordance with the City Utilities furnished Issued-for-Construction (IFC) drawings, structure data, and technical requirements. The intent of this Request for Proposal is an abbreviated version of an EPC Contract (Engineer/Procure/Construct). The work includes but is not limited to: Procurement, delivery, and working with a steel manufacturer of steel transmission poles in accordance with City Utilities IFC drawings. Installation of drilled pier foundations for dead-end, angle, and specialty structures. Engineering bolt cages to be sufficient strength to support the foundations for the self-supporting structures. Installation of anchor bolt cages (to be shipped in advance by the pole manufacturer). Erection of all poles and installation of 161 kV and 13.2 kV circuits. Handling and installation of City Utilities furnished materials, including conductors, OPGW, insulators, and hardware. Coordination of staging and delivery at the City Utilities provided 6-acre laydown yard near JTEC. This includes taking responsibility for the delivery, unloading, and handling of all poles prior to the start of construction. Responsible for all aspects of construction to include permitting, excavation for self-supporting structures, foundations, setting poles, installing conductor, and ensuring any other remaining work is completed prior to commissioning. Work within existing permitted areas, including utilities, railroad crossings, and FAA-regulated locations. All easements, tree clearing, and site preparation have been completed by City Utilities. Site restoration and proper disposal of all drilling and pole-setting spoils. Project will not be considered complete until the line has been commissioned and is fully operational.
