Requesting qualifications from qualified designer firms with demonstrated experience in solid waste planning, feasibility studies, transfer station design, and rail transportation planning to provide feasibility study services. Provide feasibility study services to assess: (1) renovation of the existing fire-damaged building at the Shawmut Avenue Transfer Station in New Bedford, MA for use as a solid waste transfer station (2) conversion of the existing transfer station to a rail transfer facility; (3) site layout and truck/rail transportation alternatives for solid waste disposal; and (4) development of a computer-assisted waste sorting, diversion, and disposal system. Designer Fee Negotiated The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informality, and/or reject any or all Qualifications. Award of the contract is subject to approval by the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District Committee. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
