Site work for a development in Munster Township, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for site work for a development.
As of August 5, 2026, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. Installation of fish habitat enhancement structures to stabilize streambanks and improve fish and aquatic habitat utilizing heavy equipment. All bid inquiries should be directed to Mark Stockley, Cambria County Conservation District Resource Conservation Sup., 814-472-2120. The Cambria County Conservation District in partnership with the PA Fish & Boat Commission & the Cambria Somerset Authority will make improvements to sections of the North Branch Little Conemaugh River & Howells Run in Munster Township, Cambria County. The Project involves a stream reach of 1600 feet that will use fish habitat enhancement structures that will not only reduce sediment loading into the river and downstream at Wilmore Dam but improve fish and aquatic habitat. The Project will need heavy equipment to install devices such as log frame cross vanes, modified mudsills, log frame stone deflectors, and random boulders. These devices will recreate a low flow meander channel that in turn make pools, runs , and riffles that are essential, distinct habitats that trout need to thrive, offering a mix of feeding, resting, and protection. Riffles provide high oxygen and food, runs offer consistent feeding lanes, and pools serve as deep, safe resting areas. In addition, when directed by the PA F&BC and/or County Conservation District, streambanks will be regraded/re-sloped. Please note that existing fish habitat enhancement structures are located along this 1,600-foot stream reach. When requested by the (PFBC) and/or the County Conservation District R-6 sized stone will be placed onto these existing structures Unless otherwise noted in the Responsibilities and Conditions, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all the necessary equipment and materials to complete the project. The Project construction timeline is August 10th to August 14th. Materials & equipment may be delivered the week prior to construction.
