The City of Marathon is an incorporated Municipality in the middle of the Florida Keys, serving a community of approximately 9,000 permanent residents, and close to 20,000 seasonal residents during the peak season, December through April. The City is made up of several small islands that are connected by relatively short bridge spans to provide residents and guest access to homes and businesses. Several of the bridges were constructed over 50 years ago and have exceeded their life expectancy. The City has secured funding from FDOT for the replacement of Three of these bridges in the 2026 and 2027 fiscal year. This ITB is for the replacement of the 117th Street Bridge in the 2026 fiscal year. The 116th Street and 112th St bridges will be let on December 2026 The work generally encompasses all labor, material, work, and equipment necessary for the full bridge replacement as depicted on the construction plans.
