Virginia Railway Express (VRE) finalized a $35.8 million acquisition of Seminary Yard in Alexandria, Virginia, from the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority. The former freight yard, located near Duke Street and Interstate 495, will serve as a central operational hub supporting major passenger rail expansion. The purchase is part of a broader five-year, $155 million agreement that also includes track connections, station easements, and corridor rights to enhance VRE's Manassas Line and systemwide capacity.
