Fuels reduction and risk mitigation projects on PNF lands involving treatment of brush regrowth to prepare landscape for prescribed fire. All pertinent questions will be answered and shared via email with all of the other contractors who attended the mandatory pre-proposal site visit. The project units are located on the Feather River Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest. All units are located south of the community of Concow in Butte County, CA. Township 22N, Range 04E, Sections 26, 34, 36 MDM. Township 22N, Range 04E, Sections 22 and 14 MDM. See maps for details. Description: Work units will have boundaries flagged with pink flagging. IContractor must utilize GPS devices and provided Avenza maps to locate other resources not flagged on the ground. Accessibility: Work site access instruction as given here is for information only. Units are accessible via county or PNF roads by 2-wheel drive vehicle during field season, but may require 4-wheel drive during wet conditions. Unit 5B is only accessible via private property. The Contractor must respect landowner privacy and requests. Access to unit 5A is extremely limited. BCRCD is working to contact local landowners to obtain access through private property. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all permits necessary for the transportation of equipment on Federal, state, county, and private roads. Directions to the Project Location: The project is located north-east of Oroville and south of the Concow community. To access unit 5A, take CA-70 to Yankee Hill and turn left onto Concow Rd. Continue on Concow Rd. and turn right onto Crain Ridge Rd. There is a locked gate at the bottom of Crain Ridge Rd. and Contractor will have access via a combination lock. BCRCD is working on obtaining more access points to unit 5A through private property. Unit 5B is accessible through private property - take Andy Mountain Rd. off of CA-70 and follow until it becomes Rim Road. Property is behind two locked gates that will be accessible via combination lock. See maps for details. Exclusions (Non-work Areas): Maps with detailed locations of exclusions will be provided to the selected contractor. Cultural control areas may be designated with red and black striped flagging, stream and wet area buffers may be designated with blue and white striped flagging, noxious weed populations may be designated by orange flagging printed with the words "NOXIOUS WEEDS." Sensitive botanical resources (if any) are designated with blue and black striped flagging.
