The District Municipality of Muskoka (Owner) has initiated this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) Contract 431-30-B-26 for the Wellington Street Bridge Watermain Crossing Installation (Muskoka Road 118 West) in the Town of Bracebridge. The successful Respondent on the subsequent Request for Proposal will be required to design and undertake watermain installation to be hung from the Wellington Street Bridge (Muskoka Road 118 West) crossing the Muskoka River in the Town of Bracebridge for a length of approximately 150 meters, including the required connections at each end of the bridge. Preliminary layout and watermain support details are provided on WMC-2 and PGA.01 drawings (enclosed). The scope of work will include: - engineering design of new watermain connections to existing watermains - engineering design of supports for new watermain to be supported on the bridge - provision of sealed engineering drawings - installation of new insulated watermain supported by the bridge including valving as required - installation of buried watermain connections, valving and chambers (as required), - installation of a heat trace system - watermain testing and commissioning; and - minor rehabilitation work as required to suit construction. Only pre-qualified Contractors selected from this RFPQ will be invited to the upcoming Request for Design-Build Proposal (DBRFP) process. The District must complete all works ahead of a required funding deadline of October 31, 2026. Following the Request for Proposal process and award of the design-build contract, it is anticipated that the Contractor will begin work on the Watermain Installation on August 17, 2026 and be complete on October 31, 2026. Restoration and final connections are to be completed by November 15, 2026 with Final completion by November 30, 2026.
