PLEASE NOTE: No award has been made. The program has been evaluating the submissions, and we just learned that there may be an extended hold on making an award. The reason for this is that the program is considering making an alteration to the building first, before executing the sprinkler installation. A decision is expected by Wednesday, 9/9. If it's decided that no alteration will be made, then we'll likely make an award by the end of next week, 9/11. If it's decided that they are going ahead with this particular alteration, then we would have to put the sprinkler project on an indefinite hold. This would be by amendment. Due to a recent fire in Building 6418, a wet fire suppression system is required for the facility, which was constructed in the early 1980s without an existing fire suppression system. The contractor shall provide a complete turnkey solution, including design and as-built drawing submittals, and the installation of a new retrofitted fire suppression system. The project shall encompass all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to deliver a fully functional fire suppression system. This amendment also incorporates the floor plan (next page ) . The highlighted area has a plywood ceiling that will require a sprinkler in the attic space, positioned above the hard lid and below it. Additionally, much of the facility has new ceiling grid and tile. Some parts of the facility have older tile. The contractor must document as -built conditions and is responsible to return to as installed , including re-installing the tile. They will be replaced at another time, but the new sprinkler system must be able to connect to a fire panel in the future. No monitoring is needed.
