Suffolk County is issuing a request for proposals to redevelop 48 acres of county-owned land on the south side of the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station in Ronkonkoma, NY. The project is intended to transform a large commuter parking lot into a transit-oriented, job-generating mixed-use development featuring office, healthcare/life sciences, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, and potential light industrial uses, along with public open space and amenities. The RFP release in July 2026 seeks a development partner following the termination of the prior Midway Crossing plan, with additional public infrastructure funding commitments of at least $200 million combined (state and county).
