Yadkin County is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for the design, fabrication, and delivery of a 380 foot, self-supporting lattice communications tower and foundation design to support public safety communications equipment for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) and Yadkin County. Key technical requirements (citations from the attached document): o Structure Type: 380-ft self-supporting lattice tower o Design Standard: ANSI/TIA-222-G-2 per 2018 NC Building Code; ASCE 7-10 o Wind Load: 115 mph ultimate 3-sec gust; Exposure C; Structure Class III; Risk Category IV o Ice Load: 0.75 in radial ice with 30 mph wind (TIA-222-G) o Seismic: Ss = 0.189, S1 = 0.085, TL = 8 (ASCE 7-10) o Materials: Solid round and angle steel only; ASTM A325 bolts; hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A123/A153 o Design Capacity: Tower must not exceed 95% capacity with all loading; 85% without future loading o Antenna Loading: As listed in Table 1 - Antenna/Coax Loading (multiple NCSHP antennas, dishes, future loading, ice shields) o Foundation: Must use provided geotechnical report; special pier height requirements due to 2.5-ft grade difference between legs o Lighting: FAA AC 70/7460-1K compliant obstruction lighting (Drake Lighting) o Grounding: Must comply with Motorola R56 and construction documents; includes tower ground ring and connections Contact/Questions: Cody Matthews, Yadkin County Purchasing Specialist cmatthews@yadkincountync.gov (336) 849-7560 Yadkin County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or to cancel this RFP at any time. Final contract terms and conditions will be negotiated upon award, including but not limited to payment terms and performance penalties.
