The City of Fayetteville is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms to provide professional design and installation services for a new playground at Veterans Memorial Park. The selected firm shall include knowledgeable playground professionals and a certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) on staff and provide full services from schematic design to complete design and through any needed construction documents . The selected firm will prepare the site, including demolition, (the large play piece will be demolished by Fayetteville Parks & Recreation), layout, installation of the new playground equipment, safety surfacing, drainage, and any other site work and features that may be needed such as walks, site furniture, and safety signage. b. The playground shall include appropriate play components for ages 2-5 years old and ages 5-12 years old. Safety surface material shall include poured in place or cork options. The addition of a 2- bay swing is desired . Other potential site improvements desired include benches, garbage receptacles, and/or a picnic table. This project design should maximize play value while existing within the same general footprint of the current play area. i. The addition of the 2-bay swings should be considered in the open grass area on the south-east corner of the playground area. Containment of the swing area is necessary and can be done with concrete walks and borders for the use of boulders as done in other parts of the playground area. No plastic edging is to be used
