Our scope of services includes the following: drilling and sampling of three borings - to a depth of 12 feet each; evaluation of the in-place conditions of the subsurface soils through field penetration tests; observing the ground water conditions during drilling operations; performing laboratory tests such as Atterberg limits, California Bearing Ratio (C.B.R.), Lime Series, and Moisture content tests; review and evaluation of the field and laboratory test programs during their execution with modifications of these programs, when necessary, to adjust to subsurface conditions revealed by them; compilation, generalization and analyses of the field and laboratory data in relation to the project requirements; estimate of potential vertical movements; preparation of pavement guidelines; preparation of a written geotechnical engineering report for use by the members of the design team in their preparation of construction, contract, and specifications documents. The proposed project involves the development of the Marbach Road Extension in San Antonio, Texas. o The proposed pavement areas are anticipated to include Arterial type streets. o Cut and fill information are not available for our use at this time. Clay subgrades are anticipated. A review of the topographic map indicates the site generally slopes towards a drainage area running north-south through the western half of the site. The geologic map indicates that the site is underlain by T-Qu, Uvalde Gravel, and Kknm, Navarro Group and Marlbrook Marl, formations. Existing asphalt for a part of the proposed scope was noted. Two cores were obtained : pavement consisted of asphalt and base. Asphalt thicknesses of approximately 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 inches were noted at the core locations. The Commissioners Court established as a targeted goal that a minimum of 20% of all procurement dollars in the areas of Commodities, Equipment, Services, Maintenance, Professional Services and Construction be spent with minority and women-owned business enterprises, and/or a minimum of 30% of those procurement dollars be spent with small business enterprises. Expenditures with a Minority or Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) that is also a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) will be counted in both categories
