Demolition and renovation of a water / sewer project in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The work of this project includes construction services for two projects: 1. project 808928 "Metro WRRF EPS Electrical EPS & WSE2 Buildings Improvements": electrical, HVAC, structural, and building improvements to EPS1, EPS2, EPS3, EPS4, EPS5, and WSE2 buildings; asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs abatement in the EPS1, EPS2, EPS3, EPS5, WSE2, and chlorine buildings; new single mode fiber and new conduits from WSE2 Building to SMB Building; new single mode fiber and new conduits from WSE2 Building to Administration Building. 2. project 808936 "Metro WRRF Selective Demolition": demolition of unused SO2 equipment in the EPS3 Building and unused chlorine equipment in the Chlorine Building. Project A -The Work described in this section provides a general description of the major work for Project 808928 - Metro WRRF Effluent Pump Station (EPS) Electrical / EPS & West Secondary Control (WSE2) Buildings Improvements and does not include all work to be performed by the CONTRACTOR. 1. Work at the EPS1 Building Modify the baseplate for Pump 529. Test vibration for Pump 529. Sand blast ten (10) effluent pipes (60 inch in diameter) to remove existing coating. Weld on steel in areas with loss of wall thickness. Recoat the effluent pipes. Expand the existing EPS1 Electrical Room to the north. Construct structural foundation for the Electrical Room expansion. Replace medium voltage switchgear, motor control lineups, 480V switchboards, and pump drive control panels for the effluent pumps. Replace transformers T-39, T-40, and T-41 . The transformers are located outside of the EPS1 Electrical Room . Install a containment wall around the transformers. Mount canopy over the transformers. Install a new PLC in the EPS1 Electrical Room . Replace air handling unit F-563 serving EPS1 pump room. Replace five (5) powered roof ventilators serving EPS1 pump room. Replace air handling unit F-564 serving EPS1 electrical room. Install new roof. Install new safety rails on the roof. Install new ship ladder at the east side of EPS1 building for roof access. Install new fire rated door between EPS1 pump room and the tunnel . Replace doors and windows. Replace handrails and guardrails. Perform masonry repairs. 2. Perform concrete repairs for EPS1 Lower Outfall Structure north/south walls. Replace three (3) 14' x 14' steel plates on EPS1 Upper Outfall Structure south wall. Perform concrete repairs and coating work for EPS1 stormwater wet well top slab. Repair spalling and cracked concrete for EPS1 Effluent Junction Structure ceiling and the walls. Replace deteriorated walkway steel gratings in EPS1 Effluent Junction Structure. Work at the EPS2 Building Demolish the tower structure and access stairs to the tower structure. Demolish the drainage pumps. Demolish the oxygen injection equipment. Demolish two (2) 72" x 120" sluice gates and one (1 ) 30" x 30" sluice gate in the west secondary effluent wet well #1 . Demolish two (2) 72" x 120" sluice gates and one (1 ) 30" x 30" sluice gate in the west secondary effluent wet well #2. Demolish one (1 ) 24" x 24" sluice gate in the west stormwater wet well #1 . Demolish one ( 1 ) 24" x 24" sluice gate in the west stormwater wet well #2. Demolish one (1 ) 48" x 30" sluice gate in the west stormwater chamber. Demolish steel walkways in the west secondary effluent wet well #1 and wet well #2. Replace gratings on the west side of the EPS2 roof. Replace checkered plates on the east side of the EPS2 roof with steel gratings. Demolish spiral stair in the EPS2 mechanical room. Replace air handling unit F-562 serving the EPS2 building and the tunnel. Install new traffic coating membrane. Install new aluminum stair and railing system at the north side of the EPS2 building. Replace doors. Replace handrails and guardrails. Perform concrete repairs. Work at the EPS3 Building Demolish equipment in the Engine Generator Room and Mechanical Equipment Room . Demolish existing roof access ladder. Replace automatic transfer switch, switchboards, and motor control center in EPS3 Generator Room. Replace supply fan F372. Replace roof mounted exhaust fans F-373 and F-375. Install new mini-split units MS-01 and MS-02. Install new condensing units CU-01 and CU-02. Install new unit heaters. Install a new stair system and elevated walkway at the south side of the EPS3 building. Install new roof. Install new safety rails on the roof. Replace doors and windows. Perform concrete repairs. Perform masonry repairs. Work at the EPS4 Building: Demolish existing exterior stairs at the south side of the EPS4 building. Work at the EPS5 Building: Demolish two (2) sulfur dioxide pumps (pump 257 and pump 258), two (2) sample pumps (pump 564 and pump 565), and one (1 ) booster pump. Demolish piping, and power and controls associated with the pumps . Demolish two (2) chlorine analyzers. Demolish piping, filters, and power and controls associated with the chlorine analyzers. Demolish one (1 ) water heater. Demolish hot-water and cold-water piping associated with the water heater. Install two (2) new sample pumps and two (2) new chlorine analyzers. Install one (1 ) new basket strainer, two (2) new Y-strainers and two (2) new filters for the chlorine analyzers. Install new piping for the sample pumps and chlorine analyzers. Install one (1 ) new bisulfite residual analyzer. Install one ( 1 ) new Y-strainer and one (1 ) new filter for the analyzer. Install new piping for the analyzer. Install one (1 ) new water heater. Install new piping for the water heater. Install one (1 ) new eyewash. Install new hot-water and cold-water piping for the eyewash. Replace panels PB- 1 and PB-5. Replace low voltage transformer for panel PB-1 . Replace dock transformer for panel PB-1. Seal conduits at junction box and manhole with durable foam sealant (e.g. Polywater). Install one (1 ) new damper and one ( 1 ) new actuator for the damper. Install one ( 1 ) new actuator for the existing fan. Relocate controls for six (6) NAHSO3 mixers to disinfection MCC. Install new starter in MCC. Mount mixer disconnects 6' above platform. Work at the WSE2 Building: Demolish heating/makeup air units F363 and F365. Demolish exhaust fans F364 and F366. Demolish heating/cooling units F591 and F724. Demolish computer room air conditioning unit F506. Demolish circulating fan F511 and circulating pumps F597 and F598. Demolish dry coolers F507 and F508. Demolish baseboard heaters. Salvage cooling and condensing unit for F56. Install new air handling unit AHU-1 in the upper-level Mechanical Room. Install condensing unit ACU- 1 on the WSE2 roof. AHU-1 and ACU- 1 serve PCG workspace. Install new air handling unit AHU-2 in the grade level Mechanical Room. Install condensing unit ACU-2 outside of the WSE2 building. AHU-2 and ACU-2 serve the tunnel , grade level occupied spaces, and upper-level occupied spaces. Install computer room air conditioning units CRAC-1 and CRAC-2 in the grade level Electrical Room 100. Install condensing units CCU- 1 and CCU-2 on the WSE2 roof. CARC-1 , CRAC-2, CCU-1 , and CCU-2 serve grade level Electrical Room 100. Install computer room air conditioning units CRAC-3 and CRAC-4 in the upper-level PLC/Electrical Room 217. Install condensing units CCU-3 and CCU-4 on the WSE2 roof. CRAC-3, CRAC-4, CCU-3, and CCU-4 serve the upper-level PLC/Electrical Room 217. Install computer room air conditioning unit CRAC-5 in the upper-level PLC/Electrical Room 217. Install condensing unit CCU-5 on the WSE2 roof. CRAC-5 and CCU-5 serve grade-level Electrical Room 101 . Install a new hydronic heating system in the grade level Mechanical Room. The hydronic heating system consists of steam-heating water heat exchanger, two pumps, coalescing air separator, chemical feeders, and piping. The hydronic heating system provides heating for the grade level and the upper level.
