Renovation of a military facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

General. This scope of work calls for removal of HRNM exhibit furniture and mounting surfaces and the preparation of space for the installation of new exhibits. Removal of exhibit furniture, which consist of temporary elements placed into a gallery, entails the removal of acrylic cases, stands, platforms, and graphic panels. Preparation of the space entails replacement of carpet and painting of walls. Except as delineated elsewhere in this scope of work, the contractor shall provide all management, labor, materials and plans to meet the objectives below. The intent of the work is to support a temporary exhibit about the Civil War that will not be part of the permanent structure of HRNM or Nauticus. The work is purely for museum exhibits and does not involve alteration of the Nauticus building. The expected lifespan of the exhibit is 3-5 years. EXHIBIT REMOVAL Furnish all labor and material necessary to remove permanent exhibits in strict accordance with drawings and plan provided by HRNM as indicated on Attachment 1 . Work includes removal of existing exhibit stands, cases , and platforms, and removal of carpet and flooring. All old exhibit materials will be removed from HRNM and disposed of by the contractor. Contractor must provide a dumpster to dispose of material. Material removed is all existing temporary exhibit material and not part of the Nauticus permanent building. EXHIBIT SPACE PREPARATION Secure work area with plastic sheeting and flooring coverings to prevent dust contamination to other museum areas and damage to current carpet. Demo/Discard flooring and all current exhibit fixtures as per walkthrough. Remove platforms at end of exhibit space per walkthrough. Install/Build 5 new sectional 18ga metal walls and cover with 1/2" GWB and 3/4" plyboard in exhibit gallery. Prep new walls, prime, and paint. Repair any wall nicks or holes in existing walls and sand as needed. Prep floor/Install new carpet (Carpet provided by HRNM) Install one new electrical outlet per walkthrough Provide vapor barriers and cover current carpet to protect museum exhibits during work. Clean up and final walkthrough inspection with end user All work will be performed to support a free-standing exhibit.
