Asphalt paving and repaving of parking lot. This project covers two sites within Barbourville, Kentucky, Knox County: 105 Center Street (Fieldhouse) resurfacing of existing pavement and construction of a new parking area along the roadway leading into the fieldhouse/center, on the right-hand side of the road. 140 School Street ( District Office / Main Campus) -- sealcoating and restriping of existing parking lot(s). 3. Scope of Work 3.1 Resurface Asphalt Paving o Area: 4,411.33 square yards Section: 1" CL 2 Surface, 0.38D, PG64-22 binder Includes milling and asphalt surface installation, 1" compacted 3.2 New Parking Area o Area: 340 square yards Section: 6" DGA (Dense Graded Aggregate) base, 3 " CL2 Base, 1.00D, PG64-22 binder Location: along the roadway into the center, right-hand side of the road DGA to be placed under asphalt pavement only; no maintenance stone included 3.3 Parking Lot Appurtenances the following appurtenance items are included in this scope but may be removed at the Owner's discretion prior to award: o Pavement markings Signage Rubber wheel stops (curb stops) 55 each 3.4 Parking Lot Sealcoating - 140 School Street This bid includes sealcoating of the existing asphalt parking lot( s) at 140 School Street (District Office / Main Campus), to be performed prior to restriping. Scope : clean and prep existing pavement surface ( sweep, blow off debris, remove vegetation/oil stains) prior to sealcoat application. Crack sealing/filling of existing cracks shall be performed prior to sealcoat application; bidder shall state crack-fill material and method. Sealcoat material shall be a coal tar or asphalt emulsion - based sealer ( bidder to specify product) applied per manufacturer's recommended coverage rate, minimum two coats where existing pavement condition warrants. Bidder shall field -verify total parking lot square footage and include this measurement with the bid submission. Work shall be scheduled to avoid disruption to school operations, with adequate cure time prior to reopening to traffic and prior to restriping. 3.5 Parking Lot Striping - 140 School Street Following sealcoating (Section 3.4), this bid includes restriping of the existing parking lot(s) at 140 School Street (District Office / Main Campus). o . Scope: remove/prep as needed and restripe all existing parking stalls, drive lanes, fire lanes, and ADAaccessible spaces per current code. ADA-accessible spaces shall be striped and signed in accordance with current ADA/Kentucky Building Code requirements, including van-accessible spaces where required. Bidder shall field-verify existing striping layout and stall count and include this count with the bid submission. Paint/thermoplastic material type shall be stated in the bid ( e.g., traffic paint vs. thermoplastic) along with expected service life.
