Site work and new construction of a detention facility in New York, New York. Design plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade detention facility.
Construction of a new auxiliary housing facility at the existing Crossroads Juvenile Center campus located at 17 Bristol Street, Brooklyn. The conceptual project proposes a new one-story secure housing building to alleviate overcrowding through the creation of two distinct housing units containing a total of 28 bedrooms and 2 classrooms. The development will be constructed within an existing recreation court area while maintaining required security zones, the FDNY access aisle, an existing basketball court, lawn, and terrace. The project is being advanced by the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS), with design services provided by BKSK Architects. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 following design, procurement, and Public Design Commission review.
