Demolition and disposal of a barn in Riesel, Texas. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. The site is at the Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory (GSWRL) in Riesel, TX.. GSWRL is located at 1702 Blackland Rd . P.O. Box 129 Riesel, TX 76682. The area of scope consists of the wind damaged barn and surrounding area for a radius of approximately 150 feet. Questions shall be submitted via email to Erin.Riffey@usda.gov and are due no later than July 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM Central Time. Base: Demolish and Dispose of Wind Damaged Barn Pre-Demolition Preparation- Disconnect and verify all utilities terminated at respective meters or service entrance points before demolition begins. Coordinate termination points during pre- bid site visit. Establish safety perimeter and signage around the site to restrict unauthorized access. Coordinate with local authorities if debris removal near the public road requires traffic control. Conduct a hazard assessment prior to commencement of work. Access will be limited to existing gates. Demolition Activities From the existing foundation as well as debris field distant to the site, contractor shall mechanically dismantle wind damaged shed and foundation, metal wall/roof panels, structure, and associated debris using appropriate equipment. Completely remove existing structure, include support poles from ground. After removal of all large debris, perform a magnetic sweep of the area with equipment suited to the height of vegetation in the area and strong enough to ensure all nails and small debris is removed from a 150 foot radius of the demolish structure. Make two passes at right angles to cover the ground thoroughly. Provide mowing if needed to ensure nails and small debris are properly removed by magnetic sweeper. Segregate debris into categories. Wood framing and OSB/plywood Corrugated metal panels and fasteners Concrete slab (if removal is required) (General mixed debris (tires, miscellaneous materials) Coordinate with Location Monitor for Government personnel to extract equipment or items to be salvaged from the barn carefully, ensuring minimal additional damage, and relocate them for inspection . Determine if there are items to be salvaged and coordinate during pre-bid site visit. Debris Handling & Disposal Transport debris to the appropriate landfill or appropriate location hat serves construction site area. Follow Texas DEQ solid waste regulations for construction and demolition (C&D) debris. Where applicable, maintain disposal manifests and landfill weight receipts for all loads to document compliance. Recycle scrap metal through licensed facilities whenever possible. Site Restoration Remove all debris, and temporary barricades, once demolition is complete. Properly compact a proper fill material in any holes. Grade and level the area to a safe condition for future use . Seeding or sod not required. Repair in kind any fence or gate damaged by construction activities. iv) Conduct a final walkthrough with owner's representative to verify site clearance.
