The City of Nevada City (City) is widely considered to be one of California's best-preserved Gold Rush-era towns, but the prevalent use of natural wood materials used in much of the City's construction coupled with the mounting threat of wildfire has led the City to undertake significant fire resiliency and preservation planning efforts in recent years. The City is seeking proposals from qualified consultants with expertise in historic preservation, architectural guidelines, and regulatory framework development to provide on-call preservation planning services for the City. These services will include but are not limited to serving in an advisory capacity to the City in updating the City's Design Guidelines for fire resiliency and on other projects with historical significance. The City reserves the right to reject all proposals; to reject any proposal which is incomplete or irregular; to determine which proposal is, in its judgment, the qualified Consultant; and to waive any informality or minor irregularity of any proposal.
