Site work for a water / sewer project in Brampton, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Furnish all labour, equipment, materials, engineering, and supervision necessary for the construction of temporary and/or permanent earth retention systems. This includes but is not limited to the supply, installation, maintenance, monitoring, and removal (where applicable) of soldier pile retaining wall systems with all ancillary components to achieve required lines, grades, and elevations; supply and installation of timber lagging between soldier piles; excavation and all measures related to installation of soldier pile retaining walls; management, stockpiling, handling, loading, hauling, and off-site disposal of excess or unsuitable spoil materials; supply, placement, compaction, and testing of backfill materials including imported granular materials; provision of temporary works, excavation protection, traffic protection, access provisions, and safety systems; coordination with the General Contractor, Owner, Engineer, utility authorities, and other trades; performance of SQUID inspections for designated caissons with all associated reporting and documentation; obtaining necessary permits; survey layout, quality control, inspection, testing, engineering certifications, and record documentation; and restoration of all disturbed areas as specified. Interested parties are to submit their interest by email to receive the RFP documentation, including drawings and specifications. The intent of this document is to receive proposals from qualified proponents to install retaining walls along the Eastern Etobicoke Channel bank between Church and Scott Street as shown on Drawings SRW-01 and SRW-02. Access roads to each of the retaining walls will be as specified in "Access Roads" Drawing set. The work to be performed under this contract consists of all work shown on the Contract Drawings and Specifications, and includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Furnish all labour, equipment, materials, engineering, and supervision necessary for the construction of temporary and/or permanent earth retention systems, including but not limited to: a. Supply, installation, maintenance, monitoring, and removal (where applicable) of soldier pile retaining wall systems complete with all ancillary components required to achieve the lines, grades, and elevations indicated on the Contract Drawings; b. Supply and installation of timber lagging between soldier piles, including all materials, cutting, fitting, shimming, and adjustments necessary to maintain soil retention and excavation stability throughout the duration of the Work; c. Excavation associated with the installation of soldier pile retaining walls and related structures, including all trimming, shaping, dewatering, temporary stabilization measures, and excavation support systems required to facilitate the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents; d. Management of excavated materials, including stockpiling, handling, loading, hauling, and off-site disposal of excess or unsuitable spoil materials at approved disposal facilities, including all transportation, tipping fees, environmental requirements, and documentation as required by the Contract Documents; e. Supply, placement, compaction, and testing of backfill materials associated with retaining wall construction, excavations, and related works, including imported granular materials where required to achieve specified compaction requirements and design grades; f. Provision of all temporary works, excavation protection systems, traffic protection measures, access provisions, and safety systems required to complete the Work while maintaining the stability of adjacent structures, utilities, roadways, and property; g. Coordination with the General Contractor, Owner, Engineer, utility authorities, and other trades for the sequencing and execution of excavation and retaining wall activities; h. Performance of SQUID (Shaft Quantitative Inspection Device) inspections for all designated caissons, including mobilization, inspection services, reporting, digital documentation, recording, and submission of inspection results to the Engineer of Record as required by the Contract Documents; i. Permits which may be required for the completion of the work (road cut permits, sanitary discharge permits, closure permits, etc..) j. Survey layout, quality control , inspection, testing, engineering certifications, and record documentation required for completion and acceptance of the Work; k. Restoration of all disturbed areas resulting from the Work to the lines, grades, and conditions specified in the Contract Documents.
