Renovation of a mixed-use development in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; educational facility; and medical facility.

The GNWT is seeking a proposal for design and construction services to upgrade three assets in Fort Liard. The summary of the upgrade requirements is as follows: A) Environment and Natural Resources (ENR). The building is a single-storey structure with a main floor that consists of four enclosed offices, an administrative office area, and two washrooms. The exterior 2x6 walls of the subject building are finished with vertically oriented dimensional lumber painted brown, atop plywood, and are insulated with fiberglass throughout. The work on this building includes removing the existing windows, exterior doors, and wooden siding, and replacing them with new exterior doors, windows, and metal siding, B) Fort Liard Health Centre (GNWT Asset 000770) is a stick-built two-storey rectangular structure with a health clinic on the main floor and three (3) residential suites (apartments) on the second floor. The exterior 2x6 walls of the subject building are finished with raised seam sheet metal atop plywood and a vapor barrier, and are insulated with fiberglass batts. The existing envelope (excluding roofing) will be removed and replaced with new metal siding, windows, and doors. The entrance ramp will be demolished, properly disposed of, and replaced with a new barrier-free (BF) ramp. C) Echo Dene School building (circa 1987) is a stick-built one-story education complex with a concrete half-basement boiler/mechanical room below the gymnasium and a raised metal/concrete pile foundation with crawlspace. The exterior 2x6 walls of the subject building are finished with a corrugated (lower) and raised seam (upper) metal sheet siding atop plywood and insulated with fiberglass insulation throughout. The work on the Echo Dene School building is limited to replacing the four existing doors with new units. All upgrading work on the three assets shall comply with the National Building Code of Canada and meet the minimum standards set out in "Good Building Practices for Northern Facilities".
