Window replacement for the First Step House facility. The project site is located at 440 S 500 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102. The building is currently occupied and operating as a transitional housing facility operated by First Step House. The scope of work consists of the removal and replacement of 18 existing windows located on the north side of the building's main floor. Existing conditions: the current windows are outward-opening (casement-style) into an adjacent alleyway, with screens mounted on the interior side of the window. New window requirements: Vertical-opening (single-hung or double-hung) operation Weather-resistant construction suitable for exterior exposure Screens mounted on the exterior of the window Locking/securing hardware operable from the interior only, for resident safety and security Additional requirements for bidders: Contractor shall field-verify all rough opening dimensions prior to ordering materials, as existing openings may vary. All work shall comply with applicable Salt Lake City building codes, egress requirements, and energy code standards for replacement windows. Contractor is responsible for removal and proper disposal of all existing windows and debris. Work shall be performed in a manner that maintains a secure, weathertight building envelope at the end of each workday, given the facility remains occupied throughout construction. All materials and workmanship shall carry manufacturer and contractor warranties, to be specified in the bid response.
