Renovation of an educational facility in Normal, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Scope of Work: The Fell Hall Roof Replacement Project includes the removal and replacement of the existing sloped and flat roofing systems, associated drainage components, and deteriorated exterior trim elements. Work includes moisture testing of the existing gypsum roof deck, selective replacement of deteriorated sheathing and substrate, installation of a self-adhering roofing membrane, and construction of a new ventilated roof assembly with ridge and soffit ventilation. The sloped roof will receive a new synthetic slate roofing system and the flat roof to be a single ply 90mil EPDM. Deteriorated wood cornices, dormer trim, and integrated gutters will be replaced with new architectural aluminum components, while new aluminum gutters, fascia, and downspouts will provide improved drainage performance. The project also includes installation of new aluminum guardrails at the flat roof perimeter to enhance safety and maintenance access while preserving the historic character of the building..
