Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in West Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The Project consists of the removal and replacement of damaged 4-inch PCC sidewalk panels at the locations identified in the Cost Table, within various Community Facilities Districts (CFDs), including sawcutting, removal and legal disposal of existing panels, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, PCC sidewalk replacement, and root barrier and driveway crossing reconstruction where applicable, complete and in place. Work is paid on a per-square-foot unit price basis. Question Deadline 08/14/2026 at 2:00 PM PT Question Response Deadline: August 21, 2026, 5:00pm. A Proposer may submit Questions related to this RFP to the City through electronically. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete sidewalk removal and replacement at the identified locations. Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: o Sawcut at existing transverse joints to ensure clean removal. Removal shall extend to the nearest deep joint or score mark. o Remove and legally dispose of existing PCC sidewalk panels. o Excavate to required depth per Standard Detail 202. o Compact finished subgrade to a minimum of 95% relative compaction to a depth of six (6) inches prior to placement of aggregate base. o Perform root pruning where roots interfere with sidewalk alignment, as required. Install root barrier per Standard Detail 701 where roots are encountered or as directed by the City Project Manager. o Furnish and compact 4 inches of Class II aggregate base beneath sidewalk and 6 inches beneath curb and gutter, where applicable. Minimum compaction shall be 95 percent relative compaction. o Install 4-inch thick, 4000 PSI Portland Cement Concrete sidewalk per Standard Detail 202. Calcium Chloride shall not be added to concrete. Concrete shall be delivered in transit mixers with agitating drums. Concrete mix design shall be submitted for approval. o Concrete mix designs shall be submitted at least 10 working days prior to any concrete placement. Each mix design shall include manufacturer data sheets, admixture data, cementitious material quantities, water-cement ratio, allowable slump, aggregate gradation, and 7-day and 28-day strength test data in accordance with Section 90 of the State Standard Specifications. No concrete shall be placed until the mix design is reviewed and approved by the City. Approval of the mix design does not relieve the Contractor of responsibility for producing concrete meeting all specified requirements. Install 12-inch long #4 rebar dowels at 18 inches on center at cold joints where abutting existing concrete. Where pouring against existing concrete, dowels shall be drilled and epoxied into existing concrete. o Tool joints shall be a minimum of 1.5 inches deep and finished with a 3/8-inch joint tool . Provide tool joints and score marks per Standard Detail 202. Expansion joint material shall not be used. Provide light transverse broom finish. Heavy broom finish will not be permitted. o o o Cure concrete using pigmented curing compound in accordance with State Standard Specifications Section 90. Concrete quality control testing shall include slump, temperature, and air content (if applicable) testing for each load, and one set of strength cylinders per pour day or per 50 cubic yards, whichever is greater. All testing shall be performed in accordance with Section 90 of the State Standard Specifications and witnessed by the City or its testing agent. No concrete shall be placed or finished during rain or freezing conditions. The Contractor shall provide protection for fresh concrete during adverse weather, including tarping or other measures necessary to ensure proper curing. o Reconstruct sidewalk to match existing alignment, including curved sections where applicable. o Adjust and reconstruct sidewalks to meet ADA requirements, including cross-slope and running slope limits (maximum 1.75% cross slope and 4.75% path of travel). o Backfill behind sidewalk edges at 4 : 1 slope to grade. o Restore adjacent landscaping, landscape edges, and park strip areas to pre-construction condition. Restore landscaping to existing conditions and repair irrigation systems damaged during construction. o Perform final cleanup and remove all debris from the site. o All work shall comply with the most current ADA, PROWAG, and California Building Code accessibility requirements applicable to public sidewalks CITY WORK ORDER NUMBER: 60005(A); 60006 (B); 60007 (C); 60008 (D); 60009 (E); 60010 (F); 60005(H);60011 (1); 60012 (J) ; 60013 (K); 60014 (M); 60015 (N)
