Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Ashland, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
Previously known as the East Side Parallel Taxiway project and renamed to coincide with the Airport Master Plan, this project will conduct engineering design work associated with the Phase 3 extension of the East Side parallel taxiway. Previous sections were constructed during East Side Development Phase 1 and 2 that gave access to the new terminal and new corporate hangars. The taxiway is needed to conform to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) design standards in accordance with the approved Airport Master Plan, which strives to achieve desired safety clearances and provide access to developable areas on the east side of the airfield. This project will provide critical taxiways for future aviation business, such as corporate or private hangars. The project is included in the County 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 27,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
