Description: Norfolk Southern plans to replace the deteriorating railroad bridge and track crossing Superior Avenue between East 38th and East 39th streets in Cleveland, Ohio. The project includes removal of existing steel columns within the street right-of-way, installation of new supports beyond street lines, and related structural improvements. The railroad will fund the entire project. Planning Commission approval has been obtained, but Cleveland City Council must still approve Ordinance 770-2026 before construction can proceed. Construction is proposed to begin in September 2026 and continue through fall 2027. Estimated value based on full railroad bridge replacement scope is approximately $8,000,000.
