Replacement of existing wooden flume with precast concrete channel and new wood flume; installation of 2 new culverts and land bridge over existing canal; modification of existing forebay with new isolation gates, weir gate, and replacement of radial gate. Question Deadline 08/21/2026 at 2:00 PM PT The project makes several improvements to the Fleish Hydroelectric Conveyance System that includes work in the State of Nevada and California. The project highlights include but are not limited to the following items:The Project consists of the replacement of 2,800 feet of existing wood conveyance flumes and associated structures along the Truckee River, along with related forebay, drainage, access, and hydraulic control improvements. Work includes removal of existing wood flumes and appurtenant support structures, installation of new wood flume and concrete conveyance box systems, and reuse of select existing structural elements where feasible. Associated site grading, earthwork, and restoration activities are included as required to support flume and conveyance box installation, as well as long-term operation. The Project also includes improvements within the forebay area, including replacement and installation of hydraulic control gates, weirs , and isolation features to improve operational reliability and flow control. Additional work includes improvements to access infrastructure, including replacement of an existing creek/access road crossing with a concrete box culvert, construction of a land bridge over the new conveyance box alignment, installation of and various wing walls in the channels and creek, and grading and construction of aggregate-surfaced access roads connecting to existing facilities. The Project further includes installation of sand and isolation gate structures integrated into the new flume system to allow controlled diversion and isolation of flows. The project is located on TMWA property. Access is via exit 3 off I-80 west, turn left onto S Verdi Rd, Continue onto Crystal Park Rd, turn left onto Quilici Ranch Rd, follow this road about 1.6 miles. Ther is public parking in a dirt lot marked as 'Tahoe Pyramid Trailhead. ' Access through TMWA gates will need to be coordinated with the TMWA Project Representative. Refer to the Supplementary Conditions for details regarding access to the site.
