Site work, new construction and renovation of a water / sewer project in Niles, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The scope of work consists of replacing approximately 3,500 lineal feet of existing eight-inch (8") diameter ductile iron water main with new twelve-inch (12") diameter C-900 Certa-Lok Restrained Joint Integral Bell (RJIB) DR-18 PVC Pressure Pipe along Touhy Avenue, between Caldwell Avenue and Lehigh Avenue, in the Village of Niles and the Illinois Department of Transportation, and City of Chicago rights-of-way. Approximately 2,200 lineal feet of the new water main are to be installed using horizontal directional drilling method, with the remaining approximately 1,300 lineal feet being installed via open trench. Portions of the work will require night-time operations. Work includes, but not limited to, the installation of new fire hydrants, new water valves and vaults, and connection of water service lines between the new water main, the new shut-off valve, and the existing water service line. Work also includes intermittent curb and gutter removal and replacement, intermittent sidewalk removal and replacement, pavement patching, driveway apron removal and replacement, abandonment of the existing water main, landscape restoration, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project.
