Reference Number 0000431753 Drainage improvements to Lower Horse Gulch Road including site work. Question Acceptance Deadline 08/14/2026 05:00 PM EDT SCOPE OF WORK. 1. Horse Gulch Road provides pedestrian and mountain bike access to some the most popular trails in the City's open space lands. It has traditionally been maintained as a roadway, but for the last several decades, it has been used primarily for recreational purposes and typical road maintenance has not been done. 2. The work in this project will be focused on formalizing and re-establishing drainage on the roadway and reopening a channel in the drainage ditch which has become silted-in and is causing further erosion and ice on the road. There is need for this type of work throughout an approximately 0.3-mile stretch of the roadway, starting from the trailhead at E 3rd Ave and going uphill (east form there). The drainage features will be constructed much more as trail features as they will roadway drainage features; as such they will be built with the rideability and safety of mountain bikers in mind. The drainage channel must be carefully excavated in order to maintain compliance with USACE regulations related to dredge and fill in wetlands. 3. There are NO known underground or buried utilities in the work area, however, the contractor may wish request Colorado 8-1-1 locates as needed. 4.
