The Trustees of Monroe County Public Library will accept sealed proposals for elevator repair and modernization at the Main Library downtown location. The project involves the modernization of the duplex passenger elevators through the replacement of the motion controllers, electrical systems, operating fixtures, wiring, door operators, and associated control equipment. The library staff service elevator shall receive a complete alteration, including the replacement and upgrade of mechanical, electrical, and control components, as well as cab interior enhancements, all as specified herein. The purpose of this Work is to improve system reliability, maintainability, operational performance, passenger safety, and compliance with current applicable codes. The Elevator Contractor shall be responsible for providing all modifications, equipment, materials, labor, and incidental work necessary to ensure the altered elevators successfully pass the State of Indiana acceptance inspection and testing. Any code-required upgrades identified during the alteration process or required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for issuance of the operating certificate shall be included as part of this Contract unless specifically identified otherwise in the Contract Documents. Discussions may be conducted with responsible offerors that submit proposals determined to be reasonably confident of being selected for award. The Board of Trustees of Monroe County Public Library reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive irregularities in any proposal, or/and cancel the Request for Proposal at any time. Proposals are to be good for sixty (60) days from the time and date set for Proposal Opening.
