Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Coleridge, Nebraska. Working plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for paving for a educational facility.
Concrete materials and labor for the construction of two trails: a small trail approximately 350 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 5 inches thick within the playground, and a large trail approximately 1,100 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 5 inches thick around the perimeter of the lot. Estimated Cost: $15,000-$20,000 For additional information or questions, contact the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School District Office at 402-256-3133 or info@lccschool.org. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Heart of Coleridge Fitness & Wellness Trail is a two-phase project: (1 ) Trail Phase and (2) Wellness Phase. Phase 1 of The Heart of Coleridge Fitness & Wellness Trail is a new trail project and will consist of two connecting trails: (1 ) The Heart of Coleridge Small-Loop Trail and (2) The Heart of Coleridge Large-Loop Trail. The two trails will connect to one another through an unlocked gate that is located on the west side of the fenced playground area. The small-loop trail will be strictly for users who wish to walk for fitness, whereas the large-loop trail will be accessible for nonmotorized users who wish to walk, jog, or run on the trail, ride their bicycle, or even push their young child/grandchild in a stroller or pull them in a wagon along the trail. The small-loop trail will be a 4'x 5" thick concrete trail that is reinforced with rebar to provide strength and durability to the trail and has two access points: a large unlocked gate at the north end of the playground and a smaller unlocked gate on the west end of the fenced playground area that leads directly to the large-loop trail . This trail will be approximately 100 meters in length (4 times around the small- Loop trail 1 time around a standard 400-meter track) and will be constructed around the perimeter inside of a fenced playground area that currently exists on the site. Our small-loop trail will be ideal for individuals who are just starting their fitness program and require a shorter trail length to better fit their fitness goals/needs, for parents/grandparents of small children who wish to walk for fitness as their children/grandchildren play in an enclosed playground area, for our assisted living and nursing home facilities to have the opportunity to bring residents outside to enjoy the space and partake in activities in an enclosed trail area, and for any other individual who desires a shorter trail length to walk on for fitness. The large-loop trail will be an 8' x 5" thick concrete trail that is also reinforced with rebar to provide strength and durability. This trail will be located just west of the small-loop trail and can be accessed from this trail through an unlocked gate. This trail will be constructed on a large grass area that is owned by the school district and will be approximately 400 meters in length (4 times around the large-loop trail 1 mile). The large grass area is currently being used by our junior high football team for practices at the middle school during the months of August through October and offers an area for other recreational activities such as playing catch, playing various outdoor games, hosting outdoor community events, or even flying a kite outside of these practice times. The proposed larger trail area currently contains a large tree on the premises that provides an exceptional shaded area where a bench would be added in the future as well as natural curves that would be constructed in the trail to avoid elevated and sloped areas in the grass area to remain ADA-compliant and provide our residents with a safe and level walking and wellness trail.
