The City of Xenia is selecting consultant services for the West Second Street Sidewalk Project (“Project”) design activities following ODOT design and CADD standards, preparation of all necessary environmental documentation (NEPA compliance), identification of utility conflicts and potential resolutions. The Project will consist of the installation of approximately 1250 LF of sidewalk on the north side of West Second Street. As a part of the sidewalk design, the consultant will provide right-of-way plans and acquisition services (title searches, appraisals, and acquisitions, as needed), to include surveys and legal descriptions for any needed permanent or temporary right-of-way. The Project will also consist of the improvement of pedestrian crosswalks by installing ADA- compliant curb ramps at the intersections, and pavement markings for pedestrian crossings at Ottawa Drive. As a part of the Project, the consultant shall also consider the installation of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon for the pedestrian crossing at Ottawa Drive. The Project will take place next to an existing cemetery with limited access to additional right-of- way, which will require the design of a retaining wall with decorative fencing. The consultant will be required to provide a complete set of construction plans and specifications for the Project, along with an engineer’s estimate of total Project cost that itemizes quantities and estimates unit costs. The consultant will also be tasked with assisting the City Engineer in providing timely responses to any pre-bid questions from potential bidders.
