The purpose of this project is to reduce pedestrian injuries and fatalities by installing High-Intensity Activated CrossWalk Signals (HAWKS) at high-crash and high-activity areas identified by the City of Phoenix T2050 Mobility Studies. The project includes sign and pavement marking improvements, crosswalk illumination and ADA ramp modifications. Improvements will be upgraded to meet City standards and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project sites are located at: 43rd Avenue and Hubble Street, Buckeye Road and 3rd Avenue, and 7th Avenue and Western Canal. This is a federal-aid project. The prevailing basic hourly wage rates and fringe benefit payments, as determined by the Secretary of Labor pursuant to the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act, shall be the minimum wages paid to the described classes of laborers and mechanics employed or working on the site to perform the contract.
