The Lake Merced West redevelopment will convert the former Pacific Rod and Gun Club site on the west shore of Lake Merced into a publicly accessible park through a public-private partnership. The approximately 10-acre site has completed environmental remediation and demolition activities, and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department is soliciting proposals for a private partner to build and operate amenities that may include a boathouse, restaurant, dock, trails, recreation features, and related park improvements. Proposal submissions are expected in August and September 2026, with approvals required from the Recreation and Park Commission and Board of Supervisors.
