LCEC is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide electrical engineering services for the evaluation, design , and preparation of construction documents regarding the installation of a standby generator system at LCEC's headquarters, 4 story Main Building located at 4980 Bayline Dr. North Fort Myers, FL 33917. This RFP outlines the project requirements, submission procedures, and evaluation criteria. 1. Existing Conditions Assessment o Perform a site visit to evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and available installation locations. Review existing electrical drawings and available record documents. o Verify utility service characteristics, existing switchgear, distribution equipment, and emergency power systems. o Identify physical constraints affecting generator placement, fuel supply, ventilation, access, and maintenance. Electrical Load Analysis and Generator Sizing o Perform a comprehensive electrical load assessment of the facility. o Identify critical, legally required, and optional standby loads. o Calculate connected loads and estimated demand loads. Evaluate motor starting requirements and transient loading. o Determine required generator capacity (kW/kVA) based on applicable design standards and owner requirements. o Recommend generator type, voltage, phase, and operating configuration. Determine fuel storage requirements based on 72-hour runtime at existing loads. Electrical Engineering Calculations Prepare engineering calculations including, as applicable: o Generator sizing calculations. Demand and load calculations. o Short-circuit calculations. o Protective device coordination review. o Conductor and feeder sizing. o Equipment rating verification. o Grounding and bonding evaluation. Installation Plan Development Develop an installation plan identifying: o Generator location and orientation. Equipment pad requirements. o Electrical routing for feeders and control wiring. o Equipment clearances for maintenance and code compliance.
